I have a habit of taking my sketch book and pens with me everywhere. I never know when something is just begging to be drawn or when my fingers are itching to grab a brush or pen and “create away”. Today I went to Marianna, Florida to enjoy the Blue Springs with some youth from our church. Boy it was hot but the water was good and cold.
After playing around in water, my eye was drawn to the trees along the waters edge. Trees that sprout straight out of the water with roots that are large, sturdy and proud. I just had to sit down and sketch this moment.
I was reminded of the verse in Jeremiah 17, “blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
These trees are not just planted by the stream, they are planted in the stream! To be found in Him, realizing that He’s my source and no other, is the place I want to be.
I hope this encourages you to find yourself rooted in Him.
This is amazing and the verse to go with it is encouraging.
